Tänktanken - quick moves and a podcast

Midsummer Day - sitting at the kitchen table drinking a cup of coffee and going through the statistics for our new podcast Tänktanken.
About 400 listens so far. In one week. Really, really cool. So what is this? And what is it supposed to add? Maybe we should start from the beginning? I had been thinking for a while that it would be fun to start a little podcast. Mostly because I thought it would be interesting to document the unofficial conversations that happen.
Who hasn’t wanted to be a fly on the wall in various situations? And here I thought, could we offer up our wall. On tänktanken.se I have written the following about the podcast
“Tänktanken is run by a small group of school people at Årstaskolan in Stockholm. Here our own private thoughts and musings appear. The program shouldn’t always be taken too seriously even though we’re passionate about what we do. The podcast works a bit like a think tank where not everything is fully thought through, but an excellent therapeutic tool for summarizing and reflecting on our little school world.”
It’s usually during these conversations that new ideas are born with us. It’s then that they develop and thrive, get bounced around, pushed and prodded and finally take shape. Anyway, back to last Sunday. I had grabbed Lotta Bohlin, Martin Fernström and Josef Sahlin. We had booked Monday to record the podcast. Maybe even a couple of episodes. Nothing more than that was decided. On Monday morning we decided the podcast name via Twitter and then we rigged the studio, invited more colleagues, recorded three episodes, registered domain names, a Twitter account, a SoundCloud account, set up the site, quickly edited the episodes, uploaded them and sent everything to iTunes.
And this is where it’s so lovely to have the colleagues I have. We carry each other. No prestige. No fear. Just full speed ahead. So what’s this good for? Well, even if not a single person listened to it, it would be worth the work for me. Just by the conversations getting a recipient [#importantforreal], they changed a little and I learned a lot, not only about my colleagues but also from my colleagues.
So my hot tip today is: start your own podcast and sit down and talk with each other. Come up with a topic and go wild. It would be fantastic fun to hear you discuss and get ideas from others around the country. On Wednesday we’ll do a couple more episodes. It’s only me working. My colleagues come in anyway, vacation notwithstanding.
Do you think we’re having fun?
