Software on Demand? AI-assisted coding?

After six months with Claude Code I have written 0 lines of code. Instead, I’ve stepped into a role as manager of my agents and, with that, created a bunch of applications and web apps. Everything from our course lab platform, with thousands of users, to an internal LMS and various automation tools with n8n.
But also some tools, one of which you can see in the film. It’s a tool for making subtitles for videos, and I make quite a few educational ones. I’ve previously used professional services for that, but missed, for example, KB Whisper for transcribing, which makes the translations far more accurate, meaning less editing for me. And time is money. In addition I can use Swedish-hosted AI from, for example, Berget AI, so all the models run from there.
How this will affect software going forward I don’t have the answer to, but when I myself move from paying for software to building it myself, for various reasons (subscriptions, I’m looking at you!)… then of course a lot of others are building themselves too. Sometimes it can be a piece of software for a single use. Software on demand.
Even if not everyone will be sitting and creating software themselves, I already see an enormous shift, not just with me but also with my non-coder colleagues. Those who already have a good idea know how to break it down and can explain it to the AI. These are and will be skills that are in demand.
