#FETT13 proud of Årstaskolan

It’s now been a week since our event #FETT13. The energy is still there, and there’s an uplifting buzz about taking the next step and making the excitement resonate even more.

Summing up the day and evening is difficult for me. Being involved as both organizer and speaker leaves its mark, and it’s taken me a while to sort out what happened. Saying I’m proud to work at a workplace like Årstaskolan would be an understatement. Getting around 25 educators from our small municipal school to stand up in front of other teachers, principals, school developers, school librarians and others is huge.

Especially considering that the majority hadn’t done anything like this before.

And how great it turned out! Everyone was insanely focused and did really well.

Even though some weren’t feeling great (one had a bilateral ear infection) there was no question of folding ;). Everyone did their best. I won’t talk so much about the program itself but about the feeling. The energy and joy that existed among us and our visitors. Our vision for #FETT13 was that everyone who visited us would feel welcome and feel like real guests. And I think we succeeded on that point. Good food, drink, DJs, speakers, live streaming, TeachMeet, lovely visitors, professional staff, disco ball, students, friends, new friends and twänner made this an unforgettable day.

It took hard work and late nights, but it was worth it! And it would never have worked without all the colleagues! Teamwork! And sure, it feels a bit heavy to pass on the #FETT torch, but now it must move on. Who takes over remains to be seen, but I wish them luck and hope for an invitation.

Finally, I’d like to extend a big thank you to all my colleagues and thank you for the luck I have to be your colleague. You are freakin’ the best! :)
